Ukulele Players Wanted for The Ukuteers
Core Music’s Thursday evening ukulele club is looking for new members. The Ukuteers have been around for long time now and is, in fact, the very first club established here. The club play for fun and perform occasionally at local events so there’s something for everyone. If you are interested just come along on Thursday evenings from 7pm.
Mandolin Taster Sessions
Steve Gray has a personal mission to increase the popularity of the mandolin in Tynedale. 10 new mandolin
players joined his taster course in 2011 and many of them have continued, with others, to take part in two follow-on
groups at Core Music. Steve is now planning another mandolin taster course at Core Music. This will probably start in March, running for 6 sessions, a fortnight apart, and will cost £30. The course is aimed at beginners to the mandolin and does not require any previous knowledge. Each session you will learn a tune from scratch from Steve’s celtic folk favourites. You can hear some examples of the tunes on http://soundcloud.com/mandolinking . To sign up for the taster course, please leave your details with Core Music (01434 601993), or e-mail Steve direct: steve@mandolinking.org.uk
