Eduardo Niebla in Concert
Formidable flamenco jazz guitar virtuoso, Eduardo Niebla accompanied by Matthew Robinson on guitar, play a night of flamenco gypsy jazz fused with Latin, Arabic, classical and Indian influences to produce the most electrifying, brilliant and poetic guitar playing. In a career spanning four decades, Eduardo Niebla has been acclaimed as one of the world’s great guitar virtuosos. His music is not only marked by brilliant technique, passion and verve, but a poignancy that comes from his childhood years “growing up with the Gypsies on the outskirts of Girona, Spain”. Eduardo’s impressive list of collaborators includes Nishat Khan (sitar), Lol Coxhill (sax), George Michael and Craig David as well as appearances at festivals, film, and venues across the continents.

A photo journal of summer workshops 2011
We have had a busy summer this year! from Jazz to Ukulele to percussion!
Here is just a snapshot of what’s been going on.
Here Tim Steemson is guiding our budding Jazz musicians. As part of our Cool Jazz week of workshops we really had the guys scratching their heads by the end of the week!
Ian Allan (2nd from the left) gave our interested beginners their first taste of the ukulele. This was part of our lunch time taster week way back at the end of spring.
George Hutton and James Clark ran a fun afternoon of percussion activities before George teamed up with Tim Steemson for a full week of Percussion workshops.
