Take it Away

Buy a musical instrument and accessories on interest free credit with Take it away

Take it away is an Arts Council England initiative that aims to make musical instruments more accessible to children and young people by providing interest-free loans of up to £5,000. The scheme is open to parents buying an instrument for a child under the age of 18, but also 18-25 year olds who can apply in their own right.

You can use Take it away to borrow between £100 and £5,000 towards the costs of your chosen instrument, and you can also include music stands, sheet music and other accessories within the loan.

You will need to pay a minimum 10% of the loan amount at the point of sale by debit or credit card (or cash/cheque with proof of identity). The rest is then paid back over 9 months (for goods of £100 – £2,000) or 18 months (for goods of £800 – £5,000) in equal instalments by direct debit. There is no administrative charge or handling fee when you take out the loan, so you will never be paying more for your purchase than the ticket price.

Applicants must be:

  • Either over 18 years of age and buying an instrument for a child under the age of 18
  • Or aged 18-25 years and applying in their own right
  • A permanent UK resident
  • Working at least 16 hours per week

Auction Night

A chance to pick up a bargain or two as we look to move on some of our older stock to get ready for some new Christmas stock.

Thursday 1st December  – 7.00pm

Now Stocking Rickenbacker Guitars

Great news for all you guitar lovers out there as we have now got in stock a Rickenbacker 620 in Midnight Blue.

The Model 620 features the famous ‘Cresting Wave’ Maple cutaway body based on an innovative design from the 1950′s. A Rosewood fingerboard is punctuated beautifully with triangular pearloid inlay markers, while the maple double bound neck and body are solid through and through. The 620 is electronically engineered to the exacting standards of the 300 series, complete with Rickenbacker’s own high gain pickups and stereo output. Successfully retaining the balance from the original specifications, the 620 is another fine example of Rickenbacker quality workmanship.

Many more like this with some selected pre -owned things in there as well.

We need to clear all these items and more to make way for new stock we have coming in. There will be some items with reserve prices on but others will simply go to the highest bidder on the night.

It’s the first time we’ve tried this so why not give it a go? It starts at 7.00pm for viewing and the auction will kick off at around 8.00pm.

I might put the Stradivavious and the Rembrandt I found in my attic recently up for sale on Saturday too – unfortunately Rembrandt couldn’t make violins and Stradivarious couldn’t paint for toffee!
