Welcome to this week's news from Core Music, 14 Gilesgate, Hexham (2 minutes from the Market Place!)
We are very pleased to announce that Tanglewood Guitars are now available in our shop at 14 Gilesgate, Hexham. We have a wide range of acoustic and electro acoustic guitars from this popular maker. This adds to our stock which also includes Vintage, Danelectro, Santos Martinez and Manuel Rodriguez. We also have entry level classical guitars from Palma available in half, three - quarter and full size. Coming soon will be a range of acoustic and electric guitars from Cort. But we don't just do guitars - we also have a small selection of brass and woodwind instruments newly delivered from Rosetti. In addition to all of this we have books and sheet music, various music accessories (including Van Doren Reeds) and other equipment including Kustom amplification.
This weekend we have two workshops taking place - Jazz Improvision with Fiona Lander (2.00 - 4.00pm on Saturday 22nd Nov) and Singing for Fun with Katie Oswell and Rivka Benjamin (2.00 - 4.00pm on Saturday 22 Nov). There are still one or two places left on these workshops so if you would like to book please ring 01434 601993.
The weekend of 29th November also has two workshops taking place. "How does it go again" with Fiona Lander (2.00 - 4.00pm) is a workshop designed to help you remember what you learn with tips and tricks from a professional musician.
Between 11.00am and 1.00pm on the 29th we are holding an Egyptian Drumming workshop with Adam Warne. Adam is a highly skilled and experienced performer and workshop leader and we are delighted to have him here at Core Music.

On Tuesday 25 November we have a special evening planned with Gavin Coulson from Vintage Guitars. Gavin will be demonstrating the Vintage guitar range and using some of our other brands in an interactive session starting at 6.30pm here at Core Music. This is a free event but booking is required as spaces are limited. Please ring 01434 601993 to reserve your place.
Core Music is taking to the airwaves. The Core Music Radio Show will be broadcast on Tynedale FM (Tynedale's new Community Radio Station) during it's four week pilot broadcast from 27 November. Our show will have music, interviews, news, features and other items all presented by our team of volunteers. It will go out between 8.00 and 10.30pm (day to be decided). We are looking for items to include in our programme so if you have any thing you think might fit please get in touch. Don't forget that it is a Core Music Show so any item needs to have a Core Music connection. Tynedale FM will also be broadcasting a whoel range of other programmes too so there are plenty of opportunities.
Finally, another date for your diary. On Saturday 6th December we are holding a special open day. More details of this to follow very soon.
