Saturday  17 January  2009 - 10.30am - 12.30pm  - African and Gospel Singing with Keren Benning

"The pleasure of singing Gospel and African Songs comes from the simplicity of the parts combining to form a beautiful sound. Sing a selection of songs chosen to give instant satisfaction to all participants. Sing rounds, call and response, as well as two and three part harmonies.  Keren Banning has 16 years of experience of leading community choirs.  She currently leads Wylam Wailers and Silver Prudhoe."

Saturday 24 January 2009 - 2.00pm -4.00pm - Improvising with Scales with Fiona Lander

“Do you want to explore the various scales often used in jazz and popular music? Modes, Penatatonic and Blues  scales each have their own sound quality and work effectively in different grooves. So whatever your preferred style is ..... be it swing, funk, latin or rock.... an understanding of these scales will really spice up your solos!
