Welcome to the latest news update from Core Music - 14 Gilesgate - Hexham
Workshops
We've got a whole load of exciting workshops and sessions happening throughout August. The full programme is posted on our website at www.coremusic.co.uk or you can collect one from the shop.
Here's a flavour - Rhythm Workout, Practical Musicianship, Boomwhackers, Singing for Fun, Rock Band Jam, Young Folk Band, Write and Record your own song, Woodwind Masterclass, drum, bass and guitar taster sessions. All very reasonably priced.
On Tuesday 21st July - 7.00pm - 9.00pm - we are hosting a stringed Instrument Repair and Maintenance session with John Bushby. The workshop will include help with setting up your instrument as well as how to look after it and what to look for when buying new or secondhand. John is also offering a free appraisal if you have and instrument which may need attention.
Prices are £10/£7 (concessions) and booking is essential.
Clubs
The young people's ukulele club and choir is closing for the summer holidays but will restart in September. Watch this space!
Our other older person's Ukulele Club continues to meet regularly on Thursday evenings - 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Our Jam Club meets on Wednesday evenings at 6.00pm
Pre School Sessions
Saturday 18 & 25 July, Monday 3 & 10 August - 10.00am – 11.00am and 11.15am -12.15pm
£2.50 per session
With multi-talented Laura Connolly, these parent and toddler sessions will include songs, nursery rhymes, dancing, playing
percussion instruments, movement activities with lycra, scarves, feathers etc, lullabies and a chance to listen to the sounds of Laura’s soothing flute playing - Booking essential.
